Teaching Excellence Award, 2023.
Thank You cards from my students, 2023.
The last class meeting for my first stand-alone course, "Effects of Mass Communication"
Teaching-wise, I have taught as an instructor of record for “J565: Effects of Mass Communication” in Spring 2024.
I also have an extensive range of teaching assistant experience related to communication and social science – e.g., from introductory courses like “J201: Introduction to Mass Communication,” “J202: Mass Communication Practices,” “J203: Information for Communication,” “LIS201: Information Society,” and “Inter-LS106: Purposeful Action: Parkland, Protest, & You” to courses of more advanced-level like “J565: Effects of Mass Communication,” “COMM045.022: Special Topics of Communication, Technology, and Culture,” and “COMM211.230: Media and Contemporary Society.”
At UW-Madison, I have taught six different courses in total as an instructor or a TA over eight semesters. I consistently score higher than average on the TA or instructor evaluation by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Further, by teaching interdisciplinary courses, like an Inter-LS course called “Purposeful Action: Parkland, Protest, & You,” or practical courses, like "Mass Communication Practices," I have built skills in becoming adept at covering diverse social topics (e.g., social division, information divide, racial inequity, immigrants and other minority issues) in relation to communication environment and employing various tools for both journalistic and strategic communication (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Premiere Pro, WordPress, Tableau, and AP Style guidance).
